Where You At Spring?

Anyone else hoping that silly groundhog pops up and decides Winter is outta here? Nashville's been having some wacky weather that's keeping me on my toes (and my sinuses out of control), and I'm just ready for some temperature stability! So, in the spirit of Spring and warmer than usual weather (sometimes), today's look is a pretty little Valentine's approved floral romper! This particular type of romper is considered a "kimono" romper with its wide sleeves and lace trim. I'm loving it with my over the knee camel colored boots! Perfect transition into those Spring days. Check it out!

PS- I've also linked a few other kimono rompers for you to shop at the bottom of this post!

Guest Contributor: Gin & Jewels // Strawberry Lemon-tini

Happy Sunday Funday Babes!

I am so thrilled about today's post as it's by a guest contributor that I adore!

Bree Diah of Gin & Jewels and I go all the way back to grade school and she has a particular talent for putting together amazing cocktails (make sure you take some time and visit her incredible blog)! I asked her to come up with something fun and Valentine's themed for whatever parties you readers may have planned. Guys, she nailed it. Check it out!

"Hello, darlings!
I like to use Valentine’s Day as the perfect excuse to pour a super girly cocktail, pop in 27 Dresses and eat more sweets than one should on a Tuesday night. So, when Alex asked if I would share a Valentine-themed cocktail, I was prepared. Whether you’re an amateur mixologist or rely on that cute bartender at your local spot to supply your libations – this cocktail is simple, delicious and pretty enough to impress your girlfriends.
The base of this Strawberry Lemon-tini is vodka and in honor of Alex’s current residency, I chose Pickers Vodka, handcrafted and distilled in Nashville, Tennessee! Before you pull out your fancy glasses, you will need to infuse your favorite vodka with strawberries. It’s best to let the vodka infuse for 10 to 14 days (in a dark, cool place). But if you don’t have that much time, you can use an already flavored vodka or infuse your simple syrup with strawberries instead. Check out the recipe below!
From my bar cart to yours, Happy Galentine’s Day!
xoxo  Bree"

Bordeaux To Go

It's Friday! Glory! Hope you babes have a weekend filled with fun. I had the pleasure of popping out to the Kendra Scott store in Green Hills last night for a Heart Association event hosted by the amazing Brooke Webb of KBStyled.com It was so much fun to chat with other local bloggers, buy some sparkly things, and help a good cause in the process. The talented fashion illustrator Brittany Fuson was on hand as well, doing custom illustrations for all of us! I have the behind-the-scenes footage up on my Snapchat (anbeall) and Instagram Story and I'll post more on that later, but if you head to the Kendra Scott Instagram Story you may see a familiar face ;)

But hey, I've got another gorgeous styling for you today! If your Valentine's style is a little sexier than the other looks I've put together, then this one should be just right. Admittedly I am totally out of my comfort zone in this dress, but when you work hard to eat right and take care of your body, you want to show off a little, am I right? Do just that in a little burgundy lace number this year! Although this exact dress is unavailable, I have included some equally as gorgeous similar styles that you can shop in the bar below my photos.

Happy Shopping Babes!

Blush And (Color) Block

Hi Babes!

Today's Valentine's look is a super easy and work appropriate way to show off your festive side in a subtle way. I employed a colorblocking method (which is a fancy way to say I used a few solid contrasting colors together) of blush pink, grey, black, white, and burgundy. It's a little feminine and a lot girl boss.

Check it out and let me know what you think! I've also linked shoppable items in the bar beneath so that YOU can get this style right now.

Slip Into Valentine's

We've been talking Valentine's Day looks and I wanted to include something a little sexier than I usually do. Style and fashion are all about stepping out of your comfort zone so as different as this is, I think it'll be fun. Today I'm giving you tips on how to wear lingerie in public.
Wait. What?

Yeah, you heard me right! There's a neat little trend that's been going around. Gals are wearing slips as dresses and honeslty, I love it. But there's a certain way you have to style it to make it approps for public. Here are my tips:

1) Make sure your slip dress is OPAQUE. Y'all...don't be out running around in a see-through slip. We're classy broads. Never forget.

2) Make sure your slip dress is an appropriate length. By that, I mean make sure you have enough length between your bum and the hem so that if you bend over, a brisk wind comes by, or if you're getting in and out of your car, your rear end isn't hanging out.

**Okay, let's pause. I know the above two tips seem a little motherly and conservative, but you have to remember, you're wearing a silk or satin nightie in public. It's a game of balance and we're trying to make it look like it was intended for outside of your home. TRUST.

3) Amp it up with outerwear! Whether it be a cardigan, leather jacket or coat, outerwear always makes an outfit look thought out and well put together.

4) Accessorize! Summer heat got you wanting to rock a slip dress as-is? Go for it, but make sure you're adding the right accessories. Use a belt to create a waist, layer up necklaces, or drape a light-weight scarf.

Below I've attached photos of how I styled my slip dress (straight from the lingerie section at Target), as well as added a few clickable links for you to get this full look with similar products. Love this idea? Plan to try it out for yourself? Already given it a shot? Let me know in the comments below!

Cue The Kisses

Yay for another style post! We're less than a month away from Valentine's Day and today's look is a fun and flirty casual one for your V-day parties and girls' nights. The best part? Half of this outfit came from Old Navy and the other half came from Target. Seriously. Financially savvy AND fashionable! Check it out below.
For today's look I paired a soft pink sweater and black quilted vest from Old Navy with a
gold sequin skirt and black heeled boots from Target. Instead of doing the obvious
and tucking in my sweater, I chose to wear it untucked and over the skirt for more
of a peek-a-boo glitter look. For a festive pop I added my Kiss umbrella.

My Velvet Valentine

Hi Readers!

I'm super excited to be diving into a month-long Valentine's editorial here on Abundantly Alex. Because what better way to kick off this exciting rebranding than with a celebration of LOVE?! Starting today I'll be sharing fun V-day styles, crafts, make-up, and even places to take your date OR gal pals here in Nashville. This is going to be fun!

Shall we?

Velvet has been having a moment. A BIG moment, and I've put together two very different looks for your Valentine's plans that both incorporate this beloved fabric. Check them out!

I adore the romantic, lace-up detail and flirty skirt of this dress! I paired it with a classic black cape and my favorite bow heels to really amp up the formality of it, but you could easily rock a leather jacket and boots for a more casual style!
Dress: Romeo and Juliet Couture, Cape: Hot & Delicious, Heels: Just Fab

The pattern in these bell-bottom. OMG. Velvet and floral sound super feminine, but pairing it with a burgundy leather jacket, lingerie style tank, and studded pointed toe booties gave it more of a fierce look.
