It's Christmas week and this Nashville weather's been downright gross! If you're like me, preparation for the holiday has had you crazy busy and you really just want a chance to kick back. Stop with the cooking and the serving and the shopping and the rushing, and get yourself to Barcelona Wine Bar - Edgehill!
Tucked in a rustic little nook along Villa Place, Barcelona brings its unique tapas cuisine to Nashville with an eclectic mix of food influenced by Spain, South America, and the Mediterranean. The atmosphere itself is cozy, with dark wood paneling, brick and various vintage knick-knacks lining a bookshelf style wall (my personal favorite being the antique cameras). A large marble bar rounds out the center of the venue with a more formal dining area located in the back behind a unique block barrier, large canvas art adorning the walls.
We had the pleasure of popping in for the roll out of their brand new brunch, and it is not to be missed! But before we dive in to the delectable dishes take note: Barcelona - Edgehill will be offering brunch served from 11:30am-3:00pm on Christmas Eve, the day after Christmas, New Year's Eve, AND New Year's Day. Go make your reservations asap!
Now for the yummy part. Let's start with the Bloody Mary Bar, shall we? It's exactly what it sounds like. During Barcelona brunch you can opt into their Bloody Mary Bar where you'll receive a glass of vodka and the rest is up to you! Choose from tomato sauce or a house made mix then add all kinds of things to your drink. Fresh veggies, spices, lemon and lime juices, the possibilities are endless! I certainly treated myself to this fun drink option.
|Banana Crepas and Short Rib Hash | These crepes were absolutely delightful, with a banana center|
and a caramel and nut topping, the short rib hash literally melted in my mouth. Like. Buttah.
|Churros & Chicken | I LOVED this take on "Chicken & Waffles"|
|Torrijas | This was a Spanish style french toast, topped with powdered sugar and drenched in syrup!|
|Pan con Huevos | A nice hearty plate by way of toast, hollowed out and filled with an egg, |
covered in a pork spread.
|Pork Belly Benedict | This was a lighter breakfast dish with a poached egg atop pork belly and |
a toasted english muffin.
|Georgia Shrimp Biscuit | Two thumps up for this buttermilk biscuit topped with Georgia shrimp!|
|Huevos Estrellados | One of my top three, this little bowl is filled with chopped potatoes and chorizo, |
covered with a fried egg. De-Lish!
